JOSQUIN THE MASTER

May 20 (Sat) 2017 | 8pm  | St. Andrew’s Church

Tallis Vocalis performs 16th century Franco-Flemish vocal music celebrating the first master of Renaissance style of polyphony – Josquin des Prez. Josquin is widely considered as one the greatest composers of his era, and due to his immense popularity his works influenced many of his contemporaries. Our programme showcases some of the finest music written by Josquin, including his famous Missa Pange lingua, as well as works by Orlande de Lassus and Ludwig Senfl which were based on Josquin’s.

Edward Wickham, a well known exponent of Franco-Flemish renaissance vocal music with a vast discography to his name, conducts Hong Kong’s only early music vocal ensemble.

This is a LE FRENCH MAY Associated Project.
